I finally did it. I put up a booth at a market, The Rodeo, for the very first time. My bestie, who is a market pro, recommended the class “The Secret of Selling at Craft Fairs…” on Creative Live. There was so much to learn from that class! My boyfriend and I checked out the local markets and inquired about how to get signed up for them. We bought the tables, printed signs and business cards, got a Square reader, and prepped the website. Finding a local printer was a bit of a challenge but we now have “a guy”. So we bought a bunch of inventory, mostly prints of my art and some vinyl stickers. We did a mock set-up in our living room. After a few hiccups we were finally ready for my first market! Because we did a mock set-up we had the booth set up in about 30 minutes and the rest of the time was adjusting and setting up inventory. We got lots of compliments on the setup and market goers really loved the art! By the end of the night we were tired, but we made some money, a marked success! Finding my place in this new community has rejuvenated my artistic motivation!
